What is L.A. Lottery League?

Lottery League takes over a dozen Los Angeles bands and drafts the members to create 12 new bands for the month of February 2011.

It all begins with a special Draft Night (held at Project Infest) on January 29 at 8pm.

Draft Night is supervised by a "Council of Chiefs" which includes The Smell proprietor Jim Smith, performers Michael Nhat and Dalton Blanco, promoter & publisher Sean Carnage, and booker Deseret Rodriguez.

What to expect

If you choose to take part, you and your bandmates will each be paired at random with three other musicians you have never played with before.

You will have four weeks to come up with an original name for your new band, write a ten minute set and record at least 2 minutes of new music.

Then, at 8pm on February 26, 2011, all the new Lottery League bands will perform their sets as part of the Big Show at Project Infest.

(Amps, drums, mics, etc. will be provided. All you have to do is bring yourself and sticks/keyboards/guitars/etc.—whatever you need to perform).

The audience will vote their favorites and special prizes will be awarded (though we must stress that this is *not* a competition—everyone will be recognized for their hard work).

Additionally, each band's song will be hosted on the NEWMUSICARCHIVE.ORG for everyone to hear and appreciate.

Qualifications for L.A. Lottery League

If you agree to this you must attend Draft Night, the Big Show and any practices your group schedules. In short you must participate fully! No one will be excused after draft night.

**Be absolutely certain your entire band can participate before you sign up**

Thanks you and we hope to see you on Draft Night!
